Laura and Gary tied the knot surrounded by the idyllic countryside views of Unique Occasions Loversall Farm. Their celebration took place in a stunning marquee from Will’s Marquees, with every detail thoughtfully curated to reflect their relaxed, elegant style.

The day was beautifully captured by James Green Studio, while guests enjoyed expertly crafted cocktails from Fizzical Bartending and delicious seasonal dishes by Dom’s Kitchen. Their timeless white wedding cake—equal parts elegant and extravagant—was created by Storybook Cakes and surrounded by a bed of delicate floral jars. The whole day flowed seamlessly thanks to the wonderful coordination by Emily K.

Being based at The Clock Barn at Loversall, it was a real privilege to design the florals for a wedding just steps from my own workshop. It’s such a joy to welcome couples here, where they can visit both the venue and their wedding florist in one trip. Having that local connection also meant I could be closely involved with the setup, ensuring every detail came together exactly as envisioned.

A Ceremony Framed by Flowers

The weather forecast had threatened rain all week, and we weren’t sure if we’d be able to set up the floral arch outside the church as planned. Thankfully, the clouds held off just long enough for some beautiful photos with the arch in place—creating a truly romantic entrance for Laura and Gary to say “I do.” Afterwards, we carefully transported the arch back to the marquee to frame the entrance—a clever way to make the most of the floral design throughout the day.

We also repurposed the table arrangements from the church into the marquee reception space, giving the flowers a second moment to shine and ensuring nothing went to waste. Thoughtful floral reuse like this is something I always encourage—it’s sustainable, practical, and keeps your wedding filled with beauty from start to finish.

Designing with Colour & Romance

Laura was an absolute dream to work with—calm, open, and trusting. From the beginning, she was more focused on the colour palette than specific types of flowers, which gave me the creative freedom to design arrangements that perfectly matched her soft, romantic vision.

We began with a few inspiration photos, and from there, I designed florals that celebrated the very best of late spring. The bouquet and installations featured peonies in full bloom, ruffled garden roses, fragrant sweet peas, tall delphiniums, and even the last of the season’s tulips for a gentle, golden flourish. The result was a palette of blush, peach, ivory, lilac, and soft blue—effortlessly romantic and beautifully layered.

A Day to Remember

The entire day had a wonderfully laid-back feel, with Laura and Gary taking everything in stride and staying present in every moment. Their love and ease with each other was infectious, and that warmth was reflected in every aspect of their celebration.

Being part of a wedding like this, where style, heart, and joy all meet, is exactly why I do what I do. When flowers aren’t just beautiful, but meaningful—woven through the day from morning to night—that’s when they really come alive.
